Built by practitioners. Led by founders.
Rajan Desai and Jeremy Herzog founded Fulton Ring in New York in 2024 to build custom data systems alongside the organizations that use them.
Rajan turns business challenges into practical project scopes. Jeremy leads architecture and implementation. Both founders stay involved from the first conversation through production.
The work spans commercial analytics and public-interest data infrastructure. Today it comes together in Arcana: a governed intelligence fabric built on Fulton Ring’s hands-on data integration and AI-enabled data science.

Five moments show how the practice widened. The links open the underlying evidence.
Commercial data systems
In late 2024, Fulton Ring published a first-person account of a commercial data engagement. The linked article documents the work and the results the company reported.
Future Risk Index restored
After FEMA’s Future Risk Index disappeared, Fulton Ring rebuilt the public screening tool at an independent address and released the transformation code. The replacement uses frozen preserved data; it is not a current FEMA service.
HOT OSM Tagger contribution
Working with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team through Tech To The Rescue, Fulton Ring contributed the first tagging route and its tests. HOT describes an experimental API: a person reviews every suggested road tag before any OpenStreetMap edit.
Adaptation & Resilience Hackathon
Fulton Ring co-hosted a one-day Climate Week gathering in New York and introduced Marauders, its first product, as a map-based workspace for spatial questions. The event brought the product into a room with planners, technologists, and climate practitioners.
HIFLD Next launched
Public Environmental Data Partners and Fulton Ring launched a new home for more than 400 infrastructure layers rescued from HIFLD Open. Puneet Kollipara provided partner leadership and stewardship through PEDP. The preserved collection came from the Data Rescue Project and its volunteer ecosystem. Fulton Ring’s public repository contains the catalog application and delivery services.
Two founders, distinct responsibilities.

Rajan Desai
Rajan leads client strategy, project scoping, data strategy, and partnerships. He turns a business question into a defined engagement, then stays close to the client as the work develops.
